چکیده

Abstract Background This study aimed to determine the prognostic value of preoperative blood parameters in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and tumour thrombus (TT) patients that were surgically treated. Method We retrospectively analysed clinicopathological data 146 RCC TT Univariate or multivariate Cox regression analyses performed risk factors associated with progression-free survival (PFS) overall (OS). Kaplan-Meier analysis logistic factors. Receiver operating characteristic curves applied test improvements predictive accuracy established prognosis score. Results On univariate analysis, anaemia (HR 2.873, P = 0.008) lymph node metastasis 4.811, 0.015) independent linked OS. Besides, thrombocytosis 2.324, 0.011), histologic subtype 2.835, 0.004), nuclear grade 2.069, 0.033), 5.739, 0.001) PFS. Kaplan–Meier revealed exhibited worse OS than those without it (P 0.0033). Likewise, showed PFS < 0.0001). Adding SSIGN score improved its related Preoperative was more symptom at presentation (OR 3.348, 0.006), longer surgical time 1.005, 0.001), loss 1.000, 0.018), transfusion 2.734, higher level 4.750, 0.004) 3.449, while 7.784, 0.007). Conclusions adverse non-metastatic TT. Also, both can be clinically used for stratification patients.

Clinical significance of preoperative thrombocytosis in patients who underwent radical nephrectomy for nonmetastatic renal cell carcinoma

PURPOSE The aim of this study was to examine the association of preoperative thrombocytosis with the prognosis of patients with nonmetastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC). MATERIALS AND METHODS We conducted a retrospective analysis of 187 patients who underwent a radical nephrectomy for nonmetastatic RCC between July 1997 and June 2009. Thrombocytosis was defined as a platelet count≥400,000 µL,...

Decreased Expression of SETD2 Predicts Unfavorable Prognosis in Patients With Nonmetastatic Clear-Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma

DNA sequencing revealed that mutations in SETD2 occur in 3% to 12% of clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) cases and are associated with poor clinical outcome. In this study, we used an immunohistochemistry (IHC) assay to evaluate the impact of SETD2 loss, with expression of H3K36me3, a nonredundantly histone modification by SETD2, on recurrence and survival of nonmetastatic ccRCC patients a...

Systematic Review of Surgical Management of Nonmetastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma with Vena Caval Thrombus.

CONTEXT Overall, 4-10% of patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) present with venous tumour thrombus. It is uncertain which surgical technique is best for these patients. Appraisal of outcomes with differing techniques would guide practice. OBJECTIVE To systematically review relevant literature comparing the outcomes of different surgical therapies and approaches in treating vena caval thro...

Increased risk of preoperative venous thromboembolism in patients with renal cell carcinoma and tumor thrombus

BACKGROUND The clinical impact of a tumor thrombus in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients awaiting radical nephrectomy and thrombectomy is unknown. OBJECTIVE To determine the incidence of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in RCC patients with tumor thrombus prior to nephrectomy. PATIENTS AND METHODS We conducted a retrospective cohort study including all late-stage (stage 3-4 excluding T1-2 N0M0...

Preoperative Gamma-Glutamyltransferase Is Associated with Cancer-Specific Survival and Recurrence-Free Survival of Nonmetastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma with Venous Tumor Thrombus

Introduction. To evaluate the prognostic significance of preoperative gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) on the subgroup of nonmetastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with venous tumor thrombus. Materials and Methods. We retrospectively reviewed the institutional database and collected the medical data of 156 patients with nonmetastatic RCC with venous tumor thrombus between March 2004 and December ...
